Cognos Analytics will does not run after user selects prompts on prompt page - cognos

We have recently upgraded from Cognos 10.2.2 to Cognos Analytics 11.0.11. Some users have had trouble running reports that include a prompt page. After the prompt page is completed and they click Finish, it does not look like the report runs at all and they remain on the prompt page. Internet Explorer 11 is being used and all browser history has been deleted.

The issue is resolved. Had to add display name to a text prompt that was on the prompt page that was causing the issue since migrating from 10 to 11.

Cognos Analytics 11.x: How to "preview with no data" by default for all users

In Cognos Analytics 11, For query studio. How to force user to use the option "preview with no data" when building a query studio report. I basically want to user to build the query with no data then when he/she is done with building it to click run an click the data. I know each user can do it for him/her self but I want to in force it globally
So the answer to this question is the same for previous versions of Cognos. This is how I addressed my issue in 11 and it worked for me
1- On the server(s) where the dispatcher is installed, add an entry to /cognos/analytics/templates/ps/qs/systemt.xml
param name="limitedDataMode">nodata</param>
Then restart the system.

Downloading files from sharepoint/ssrs

In Sharepoint we have a report created by Visual Studio-ssrs. When the report is executed and the results are shown, when I click on actions/export/excel (or other formats) I receive a message at the bottom of the screen saying that the file ‘couldn’t be downloaded’. The same happens when i try to export a sharepoint list to excel (therefore this is not a problem of ssrs only )What can I do? I have the following additional information for the problem:
- I use IE11 32 bit Excel 2016, SQL/Visual studio 2008.
- I have no problem in downloading any file from Sharepoint (eg from document library) or from internet.
- When I switch user and log in (in the same pc) with another user of the network I do not face the above problem and the file is saved normally
- When I switch user the settings change. I make the settings of my user the same as the settings of the other user (Internet options/security/custom level and internet options/advanced) but there I still have the above problem.
- when I log in with my username to another pc I have no problem.
- I reset IE but I have the same problem.
- I check from manage add-ons and I have the same add-ons as with the add-ons I have when I log in with the other user. The only difference is that in the ‘run without permission category’ the add-on ‘SharePoint OpenDocuments Class’ appears three times compared to two with the no-problem user. All have the same version (15.0.4420.1017)
I found the solution. I run the Internet Explorer as an administrator and the problem was solved.

SSRS time out issue

I have created a SSRS report in SharePoint and its uploaded in to the SharePoint library. While running, its working fine. It taking less than 10 seconds to load the report. But If I kept the report in idle mode for the next 5 minutes, then I tried to enter the text in search box in report tool and then clicked find. But instead of displaying the result, it loads the report again. And If I pass the search criteria, it will works. So My assumption is that, it would be the problem of time out. So can you guys advise me where can I update the time out value to avoid this issue?
If this is SSRS SharePoint integrated mode I guess something should be available in Central Admin to which usually developers might not be having acces atleast in prod environment. Check with the administrators who manage your farm.

Wavemaker Project - I added security, now my will show a blank page

I have been using Wavemaker Studion (v.6.7) for around 3 months and it is a pretty good RAD application.
A few weeks ago, I added the security feature (Database) on a 40% finished project and when I launch the project, it shows a blank page - let me mention that the project was running flawless before. I didn’t notice that it was related to the security feature.
Then I started a new project, on which I re added the security service (Database again)...when I clicked the Run button, the project will again launch with a blank page, even when I remove the feature - by the way, everytime I uncheck the enable security checkbox, then save the project, it keeps recheck everytime i reopen the security tab with the settings as if I have never unchecked the checkbox earlier.
I tried to tweak a bit the security features and the login page appeared but the credentials will be invalid ( which is strange as I used simple ones as admin and pass). There won’t be anyway for me to fix this as the project seems to be corrupted.
My main concern is not to be able to successfully setup the security with Database security provider.

You have to check "Show login page" box for you can see the login page, then you can enter with the "user" and "pass".

SharePoint and Forms Based Authentication Issue - Office Apps no longer work

We have several sites that use Forms Based authentication (FBA) within SharePoint. Many of them have been running for months without issues. Within the last week or two we have noticed the following behavior for users trying to access a Read Only Microsoft office document (currently only verified with the 2007 versions of Excel and Word).
The behavior we are seeing exhibited:
The Document starts to open
Within the Office application an IE Window opens with the FBA login screen. There is also a Hyperlink in the top left saying Skip to main content
Clicking cancel several times will open the document
If you identify the site as an IE Trusted site the login screen with the Office app, everything works as before (not an option for the majority of our sites)
Non offices files, like PDFs, do not exhibit this behavior
Non IE Browsers that we have tested (FireFox, Chrome) do not exhibit this behavior.
Is anyone else seeing this issue? I assume it was an update sent from Microsoft that has resulted in this issue, since we are seeing it on multiple sites where the code has not been updated.
Thanks
The issue we ran into is there was a policy file applied on our network that caused the UAC prompt to be disabled for Vista/Win 7. When this happens, protected mode gets turned off for the IE browsers, which caused the issues we were seeing.
If you want Office integration to work under forms authentication you should do the following:
Turn on client integration in Central Administration for the forms-auth-enabled application
Use persistent cookies for authentication in the forms-auth-enabled application
On the client computer, add the site to trusted sites in IE
If you still see a login screen embedded in Office documents that you open, try the following on the client computer (if Windows 7):
Go to Control Panel, User Accounts
Click Manage User Account Control Settings
Change slider to Never Notify
Click OK and reboot the computer
