Count look up values in excel - excel-formula

I have one defect list with part no and defect code
Blade No Defect code
10 FR
10 FR
10 FR
11 FR
11 LD
12 ND
13 AR
10 TE
14 TE
14 TE
11 NT
16 LD
Now i want to count of defect except defect code TE against each blade number.

Use a PivotTable and filter out TE:

The COUNTIFS function can accept matching or non-matching criteria.
=COUNTIFS(A$2:A$13, D2, B$2:B$13, "<>TE")

Sum the maximum values based on criteria Excel

The objective is to calculate the total allowance for the kids in my data set that are aged 12+. In this example using the data set below, the outcome should be 9 (5+2+2). Can someone please help me with a formula? Thanks!
ID Age Allowance
Fred 12 6
Fred 15 10
Fred 18 5
Joe 12 2
Sam 12 2
DJ 10 1
With Office 365 Excel:
=SUMPRODUCT(SUMIFS(C:C,A:A,A2:A7,B:B,">=12",B:B,MAXIFS(B:B,A:A,A2:A7))/COUNTIFS(A:A,A2:A7))
If one does not have Office 365 Excel then one can use a helper column and sum that.
In D2 Put:
=IF(AND(B2=AGGREGATE(14,7,$B$2:$B$7/($A$2:$A$7=A2),1),B2>=12),C2,"")
And copy down. Then sum at the bottom.

Small Function with Unique Criteria

I have data outlined like below:
State Sort
CA 11
CA 21
CA 11
CA 21
WA 11
WA 12
MT 11
MT 12
MT 21
I would like to return the smallest nth unique number for each state.
This formula works where no duplicates exists:
=AGGREGATE(15,6,B$2:B$10/(A$2:A$10=D2),ROW(1:1))
However, it (obviously) returns 11 and 21 twice for 2nd and 4th smallest values.
I have played with FREQUENCY to get a unique list, but it's not working:
=AGGREGATE(15,6,FREQUENCY(IF(A$2:A$10=D2,MATCH(B$2:B$10,B$2:B$10,0),0),ROWS(B$2:B$10)-1),ROW(1:1))
But can't get that too work either. Any ideas on how to make this work?
I would like to return the following for CA:
Try this:
=AGGREGATE(15,6,B$2:B$10/(MATCH(D2 & "|" & $B$2:$B$10,$A$2:$A$10 & "|" & $B$2:$B$10,0)=ROW($B$2:$B$10)-MIN(ROW($B$2:$B$10))+1),ROW(1:1))
It checks that it is the first occurrence of the number.
This formula will give you the required result
=AGGREGATE(15,6,B$2:B$10/(A$2:A$10=D2)/(COUNTIF(E$1:E1,B$2:B$10)=0),1)
AGGREGATE finds the smallest value where column A matches D2 and the number isn't included in the cells above

can i modify the line in column in excel with macro or script?

I'm trying to translate lines in columns in Excel with a script or macro method.
This is an example:
1 Eric
2 dupond
3 paris
4 24
5
6 Patrick
7 Thomson
8 lyon
9 28
It will be like this:
Nom Prénom Adresse Age
Eric dupond paris 24
Patrick Thomson lyon 28
You'll find attached a picture show what I need exactly:
With Eric in A1, put the following formula in an unused cell to the right.
=INDEX($A:$A, (COLUMN(A:A)-1)+(ROW(1:1)-1)*5+1)
Fill right three additional columns and down to catch all entries.

How to calculate no of days spent per month from the data in MS Excel?

I have a data which has a hotel check in date and check out date. I would be calculating the number of days spent at the hotel, I would simply subtract both of them and I have the days difference.
I now have to pick up the customers who stayed for more than 31 days and find out how many days they had spent per month. For example, some one checking in on 18th July 2015 and checked out on 18th September 2015, there should be multiple columns, corresponding to that cust which reads 13 31 18, for days spent per month. (July, Aug, Sept)
Example data and sample output :
Client Check In Check Out
Majestica Inn 22-May-15 22-Jun-15 31 9 22
Twin Tree 29-May-15 30-Jun-15 32 2 31
Connaught Mews 1-Jun-15 31-Jul-15 60 29 31
Majestica Inn 18-Jul-15 18-Sep-15 62 13 31 18
Majestica Inn 18-Jul-15 18-Sep-15 62 13 31 18
I am new to Excel, please help.
if you can be flexible about the number of columns then you can use the below formulas to get the desired output.
Formula To Get The Days:
Remark: paste this formula in cell e2 and then drag & copy.
=IFERROR(IF(AND(MONTH(E$2&"-"&YEAR($B3))>=MONTH($B3),MONTH(E$2&"-"&YEAR($C3))<=MONTH($C3)),IF(MONTH(E$2&"-"&YEAR($B3))=MONTH($B3),DATEDIF($B3,EOMONTH($B3,0),"D"),IF(MONTH(E$2&"-"&YEAR($B3))=MONTH($C3),DATEDIF(DATE(YEAR($C3),MONTH($C3),1),$C3,"D")+1,DATEDIF(DATE(YEAR($C3),MONTH(E$2&"-"&YEAR($B3)),1),EOMONTH(DATE(YEAR($C3),MONTH(E$2&"-"&YEAR($B3)),1),0),"D")+1)),""),"Err")
Formula For Concatenating:
=IFERROR(DATEDIF($B2,$C2,"D")&IF(E2<>"",",","")&CONCATENATE(E2,IF(F2<>"",",",""),F2,IF(G2<>"",",",""),G2,IF(H2<>"",",",""),H2,IF(I2<>"",",",""),I2,IF(J2<>"",",",""),J2,IF(K2<>"",",",""),K2,IF(L2<>"",",",""),L2,IF(M2<>"",",",""),M2,IF(N2<>"",",",""),N2,IF(O2<>"",",",""),O2,IF(P2<>"",",",""),P2),"")
And If You Don't Want To Add any Columns Then Try This One......
Paste in Cell D2......

Percentage Greater than/Less than in a table

I have a table that I want to find the percentage greater than and percentage less than compared to a baseline, for the total group based on the weights of each group.
Here is my example table:
Benchmark GRP 1 GRP 2 GRP 3 GRP 4
10 10 11 10 12
14 12 15 11 15
17 11 17 13 16
18 14 15 14 17
Poulation 40 45 30 80
What I want to do is find out for each level of the benchmark what % of the total population of all four groups is above or below the bench mark value.
I have tried various sumproducts and sumifs but can't seem to get it work.
Let me know your thoughts!
Thanks as always!
Assuming your sample data is in A1:E7 put the following formula into B9 and use Ctrl+Shift+Enter to record it as an array formula:
=SUM(IF(B$2:B$5>$A$2:$A$5,1,0))/COUNTA($A$2:$A$5)
This can then be copied across under the other groups. Below is showing how it works for me.
Note: The array formula will display with braces ({...}) around it but you do not type these.
