First of all, I'm pretty new to this all...
I am using Amazon web services and I have installed LAMP on Amazon linux using this.
When installing phpmyadmin, I was trying to grant access to all IP addresses (i know, not a good idea), so I tried adding Require all granted under # Apache 2.4 in phpmyadmin.conf file, I was using Mac's terminal, and I messed up the file while trying to learn how to add it, so now that I found how to add it, it is not working anymore... this the error I get:
Stopping httpd: [FAILED]
Starting httpd: AH00526: Syntax error on line 1 of /etc/httpd/conf.d/phpMyAdmin.conf:
Invalid command '# phpMyAdmin - Web based MySQL browser written in php', perhaps misspelled or defined by a module not included in the server configuration
[FAILED]
Is there anyway that I can just replace the phpMyAdmin.conf file to default and start editing it over?
or do I have to unistall and re install phpmyadmin all over again?
Thanks

I've installed Node.JS via cPanel and all the Phusion Passenger files and dependencies. I can run the application manually via SSH. I have created the application in cPanel's Application Manager. However, after the application is "enabled" it's not actually "running" and only results in the Passenger error page. It says it was not able to execute the application.
If I manually inspect the application configuration file in /etc/apache2/conf.d/userdata/ssl/2_4/username/subdomain/application_name.conf I can see it doesn't have an entry for PassengerStartupFile. If I add the line
PassengerStartupFile ./bin/www
and restart the Passenger service, is works and I can access it via the URL. However, if I disable and re-enable the application via cPanel, the conf file is regenerated and that entry is lost.
How can I get cPanel to add the PassengerStartupFile entry, or get Passenger to auto-detect the startup file from the package.json file or environment variables or something?
As a work-around, I've created a second application_name_patch.conf file with the missing configuration line so that it all eventually gets compiled together, but that's kludgy...
Your solution to add a second application_name_patch.conf file next to the appliation_name.conf file is exactly the solution you need as is explained here: How to Install a Node.js Application.
The linked article suggests you use the path /etc/apache2/conf.d/userdata/ssl/2_4/user/domain.nodejs.conf for the custom startup file, but I would recommend you use the path /etc/apache2/conf.d/userdata/ssl/2_4/user/domain/nodejs.conf as this will place the custom configuration in the same directory as the original application conf file.
I can't seem to get an asp site to run with ISPCONFIG3 at all. I am getting errors in the apache error.log like this:
Not running mod-mono-server.exe because no MonoApplications, MonoApplicationsConfigFile or MonoApplicationConfigDir specified.
Failed to connect to mod-mono-server after several attempts to spawn the process.
I think it has to do with my configuration somehow but I can't seem to figure out where. Thoughts?
Encountered this error today after installing apache2, mod-mono, etc in Ubuntu 19.04 on my laptop. Having just done it successfully on an AWS instance running Ubuntu 18.04, I was surprised that it didn't work here. By trial and error tweaking the mono-server config, apache2 config, the ASP.NET web app folder (with a simple index.aspx in it), and looking at the apache2 error logs after each change (after stopping/restarting apache2 each time!), I discovered that, in my case at least, this error was caused by the absence of a web.config file in the web app root folder; as soon as I created a simple skeleton web.config file, this error message went away.
Worth noting in passing is that the error message contains a typo: there should be an "s" for "Applications" in the keyword MonoApplicationConfigDir, like the other two keywords have. One of the things I tried was to alter the MonoApplicationsConfigDir statement that was present by default in my mono-server4-hosts.conf file by removing the "s" to match the error message, but that generated a different, fatal error that prevented apache2 from starting: systemctl status apache2.service showed "Invalid command 'MonoApplicationConfigDir'".
Iv'e been trying to set up a web server off my homes internet. At the moment its a dusty little Toshiba Netbook with and Ubuntu server running off of it. I have all that set up, and apache + php, but now i'm trying to get lua to work with it. I first edited the htttpd.conf to have the
LoadModule lua_module modules/mod_lua.so
line uncommented so it would load (I somehow got it to install with all the modules enabled, just not active), and I got this error after trying to start it back up.
httpd: Syntax error on line 116 of /usr/local/apache2/conf/httpd.conf: Cannot load modules/mod_lua.so into server: /usr/local/apache2/modules/mod_lua.so: undefined symbol: luaL_loadbufferx
Since this isn't working and I have no idea why, I'd like to ask you all for help! Thanks in advance for any help you might be able to offer!
Seems like mod_lua.so is unable to find the Lua library (in which luaL_loadbufferx function is implemented). Verify that LD_LIBRARY_PATH includes path to Lua library folder, and that the user account under which the web server runs has execute privileges on liblua51.so.
I have set up ubuntu server on an old pc with webmin as well. I am not sure what was going on but i restarted the server and when it boots it now get this when Apache tries to start.
* Starting web server apache2
apache2: Syntax error on line 237 of /etc/apache2/apache2.conf: Could not open configuration file /etc/apache2/sites-enabled/000-default: No such file or directory
Action 'start' failed.
The Apache error log may have more information.
I have checked this file on this line and it looks like this:
# Include the virtual host configurations:
Include sites-enabled/
I have removed Apache and re installed it but not sure why it still fails.
As also answered by Qben, the issue was an invalid symlink in the sites-enabled folder. Removing the broken symlink and adding a valid one will fix the issue.
You do not have a default site enabled:
/etc/apache2/sites-enabled/000-default: No such file or directory
site-enabled should contain symlinks to files in site-available and I guess your 000-default symlink does not link to a real file in site-available.
I guess this Ubuntu guide might be of interest for you.
One of the reason may be that you might have some site that is not enabled. To check that
Go to /etc/apache2/sites-enabled
Out of many/some [sitename].conf files , one/some may be crossed
Delete those found crossed
Restart apache server
sudo service apache2 restart.
Hope this has helped you , but may be some other reason too. Thank you.
I tried to install and setup a svn server using apache2,
I followed instructions on internet but while i tried to restart apache2 it shows the following error:
apache2: Syntax error on line 204 of /etc/apache2/apache2.conf: Syntax error on line 1 of /etc/apache2/mods-enabled/authz_svn.load: Cannot load /usr/lib/apache2/modules/mod_authz_svn.so into server: libsvn_repos-1.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
Action 'configtest' failed.
i checked the path but the file do exist,im not sure what is happening.
need some help thanks~
Based on your pathes, it looks like you are playing debian or ubuntu config. if I remember well, this module *mod_authz_svn.so* is available with libapache2-svn, so you need first to apt-get this module as root, and then to enable it (being in the directory /etc/apache2, *a2enmod my_module*) and reload your apache config (or restart apache).
The other way around is to load the module as a DSO. Then it's a different process.
