How to change color in progress browse when a row is selected mouse click or keyboard arrow keys. i already have the code for change color.. attached in row-display is the following:
IF /*CONDITION IS TRUE*/ THEN DO:
DO viCounter = 1 TO viNumCols:
ASSIGN vhCurColHdl = WIDGET-HANDLE(ENTRY(viCounter,vcColHandles))
vhCurColHdl:BGCOLOR = 0
vhCurColHdl:fgcolor = 0.
END.
END.
In versions prior to 11.5 (I think, may be 11.4 or 11.3) the selected line in the browse is coloured according to the theme you have selected. You have no control over this programmatically. You can change the theme I suppose.
In 11.5, as mentioned above, the colour is selected based on the background colour of the browse. Again you have no direct control over the colour selected, although the decision making is pretty clever.

I need a vertical slider similar the standard slider. Is there a way to modify the existing one or do I need to make a new one?
The standard slider would work for me. I just need it to work vertically.
Perhaps I should better clarify my issue with the standard slider.
Yes, I can drag the size of the slider and it will be vertical. The problem is that when you select the value of the slider to show the text gets buried in the low side of the slider when you slide it down all the way. It essentially gets cut off and only shows the top half of the slider value character. I find no way to correct this by moving the shown text up a little so it all shows. I see no way to change text vertical or offset position in the properties setting.
The text settings only allow you to change the text format to right, center and left justify. There is no setting that can move the text up to prevent it from being cut off when the slider is all the way to the lower or down position.
The value text shows ok on the top of the slider. The problem is on the bottom side when you set the slider to be vertical.
It looks like the the show value setting does not place the value on the top layer of the slider and it gets hidden behind something else in the slider object.
LC9, Windows 10
I think I'm understanding your question. If you just resize the horizontal slider control so that the width is narrower than the height, the orientation of the slider control will automatically change to vertical.
Apparently it is a bug in this version of LC. At least in Win which is where I am testing.
Putting the scrollbar vertically cuts the value when it reaches the bottom.
But I found a solution so that it does not cut. Play around with the properties of the font. Such as size and family. In my case it worked fine by lowering the font size by one pixel.
Default: Segoe UI font, size 12
I just set the size to 11 and it doesn't cut anymore.
For what it is worth, I do not see this issue on a Mac. A vertical slider works as advertised. Font size makes no difference.
Are you saying that in the horizontal mode, you do not see this, but when changed to vertical, you do?
Try creating a scrollbar and a text field.
Set the scrollbar's showValue property to false and copy the following script to your scrollbar. Note that your field must be called "scroll value".
on scrollbarDrag pNewPosition
local tLoc
lock screen
# The Current Loc of Field
put the loc of field "scroll value" into tLoc
# New Position of scrollbar
put pNewPosition into field "scroll value"
# New Loc of Field
put the mouseV into the item 2 of tLoc
set the loc of field "scroll value" to tLoc
set the left of field "scroll value" to the right of me
unlock screen
end scrollbarDrag
I have embedded an image to a chart's datalabel. I want to only keep the image and not the value which appears on top of the image.
However I'm not sure how i can get rid of the value to only show the image?
I thought could've set the font colour to transparent but that's not available. I also played around with the number formatter but had no luck?
I'm using Windows/Excel 2010
Thanks
Clicking on one of the data labels once will select all of them, clicking a second time will select only the one you clicked on. Then just hit the delete button. (You should also be able to edit the font/colour in the Home tab.)
I would liek to change the label (right side), created in excel, into blue color with the same size as the data in C5.
Don't know how to do it in Excel. Tried to find a solution but i failed.
Thanks!
First, make sure you are using an ActiveX Control label and not a Form Control Label.
Then, right click your label and select properties. In the properties list, click the font property and it will reveal an ellipsis button (...) to the right. Click the ellipsis button and select you desired size.
To change the color, select your desired color in the Forecolor property below font. (options are limited for labels).
To change via VBA, you can lookup you desired color code by selecting the color in the forecolor property mentioned above. Then, do something like this in your code:
Label1.Font.Size = 36
Label1.ForeColor = &H80000001
I asked this question on the LiveCode email list. No response, so I figure it must not be possible. I know about editing the template graphic that enables alternating row colors. That doesn't help me.
This lesson is the closest to what I have found, but it only sets the overlay color to empty cells. It also had an unwanted affect, where any data that was present in the grid no longer shows up.
http://lessons.runrev.com/s/lessons/m/datagrid/l/7327-how-do-i-override-the-default-behavior-for-rendering-data-to-a-cell
As a little experiment, since the data became invisible (note that I'm on WinXP), I tried placing an opaque graphic over the column I wish to colorize. I set the ink of the graphic to AddMax or AddOver, and it looked nice, but the text in the cells disappeared. Then I tried setting the ink to AddMin, and it still looks good, but the test shows through!!!!
So, I think this will work fine visually, but how can I pass a double-click through this graphic to the cell underneath (to allow cell editing only within this column)?
Yes, you can do this.
This suggestion comes from Trevor DeVore at http://www.bluemangolearning.com/
Create a custom column template using the property inspector. From there you can edit the behavior of the column to colorize the background color of the field for that column or just edit the field in the template group to change the color.
The background color will only show up in rows that have data, however.
I have 4 tabs. Each tab is represented by a button. Those buttons are used to select the currently displayed tab. Each button has an icon and text.
I'd like to highlight the currently selected tab by changing background color and text label color of the corresponding button. I'd like to do it using Theme and Resource Editor.
I created theme and specified unselected, selected and pressed styles for UIID "Tab". My tabs look great in Sun WTK! Fine! But I found that on a real phone the tabs always look like unselected. I tried on Nokia 5800 XPressMusic and C7. Why the difference?
After some experiments I found out the reason - the buttons may be only in 2 states: unselected and pressed. They never be in the selected state. On the emulator when I move to a button using navi keys, it becomes selected.
So, what should I do to mark the current tab?
You can use a few different approaches especially in 1.5.
LWUIT 1.5 has a Tabs component which pretty much does everything for you and is remarkably flexible.
It uses radio buttons on which the method setToggleButton(true) is invoked. Toggle buttons act like radio buttons so when you press a button in the group it stays pressed and is rendered using the ToggleButton style (you can set the UIID to whatever you want). See a sample of using toggle buttons in the font demo portion of LWUIT demo.
An option that will work for older versions of LWUIT is to just set the UIID of the button to a different value when it is pressed (and restore the UIID of the previously selected button to the original value).
I implemented what I needed. Thanks to Shai and his example.
I didn't use theme properties and made all customizations in the code. I did so because I didn't catch how setting unique UIID can help me, since the problem is not in the identifying the UIID for which the props have to be changed, but in identifying the button's style to be changed.
Below some important notes of my solution.
Call addActionListener for the buttons AFTER they have added to the tabs.
When any tab button is pressed, update UNSELECTED styles of the tab buttons. Also you can change their icons.
Call form's repaint() after step 2.
