how to test using monkeyrunner with android studio? - android-studio

I have downloaded the android studio and the android sdk . I am handicapped beyond this point. It would be great if anyone could help me out beyond this point.

Probably the best you can do is to use AndroidViewClient/culebra and Pycharm.
Because AndroidViewClient/culebra is based on python instead of jython you won't have some of the problems you may encounter using monkeyrunner.

Android studio native code navigation is not working

When I click on usage of any function it shows me a dialog like below:
This makes my code navigation in native very slow. I'm using Android Studio Arctic Fox.
I have NDK(SideBySide) and CMAKE installed. I'm able to build and debug native code.
I feel it's some settings / configuration issue. In my native code I don't find usage of functions or variables like we do in Java. Any help/clue will be appreciated.
Finally I figured the answer. It was an indexing issue of Android Studio(AS).
So, I closed AS. Used VisualStudio for indexing my code. And later opened AS. And AS now able to find reference of native C code. Damn you AS..

use intellij kotlin kt file in android studio

I have written a program using intellij and want to import the code into android studio but i can't find any tutorials that have this specifically.
I am only able to find using kotlin in andoid studio or convert from kotlin to java.
I know it will be easy and that I am not looking in the right places but could really do with a pointer, I have been trying to do it all day lol im starting to loose the will!
Thanks
Not sure if I understood your question correctly, but if you have a bunch of code files and wanna import your code into Android Studio, the easiest way is to just create a new Android Studio Kotlin project, copy your code files from your IntelliJ project to your new Android Studio project, then adjust the code for Android.
If you do it inside the programs instead of in the file explorer, it will even adjust the package names for you.
Here's what I mean exactly by inside the programs:
If you want to create an Android application with the code that you write in IntelliJ. You can create an app in Android Studio and paste the code in the right place(should be in onCreate method) and manage the way that you will show the result. Also you can create an Android application in IntelliJ with the Android plugin.

Why is my Android Studio not functioning properly?

I'm having a lot of trouble since I installed Android Studio to learn Android Programming.
I'm getting an error message like this and even my Pallete is not being displayed.
Please help me solve this error. Sorry if the way of asking this question is ridiculous cause I'm new here.
Download ALL SDK Tools and restart your android studio

You can simply use some plugins which are created exactly for this purpose.
For example Sympli would let you to drag and drop your design into Swift or Android Studio in no time.
There is also some basic tutorial on their website for getting on board.

Intellij Idea Ultimate or Intellij Idea Plus PyCharm and Android Studio

I am coding Android Apps, Server-Side Python Code and using Spring Framework. I have a student license for JetBrains. I like things organized, so should i use Intellij Idea with Android and Python Plug-in or PyCharm, Android Studio and Intellij Idea separated.
Is there too much pros of Android Studio and PyCharm over Intellij Idea plug-ins.
Note: I asked that question 'cause previous questions about this subjects are about android and python separately and also not up-to-date. The nearest question is almost 1 year ago.
Edit: My decision is to go with Intellij Idea Ultimate only. I leave the question open in case some expert want to answer that question detailed. But you can read this answer that help me made my decision.
Long story short: Android Studio and PyCharm can be more up-to-date but the difference is not to much. JetBrains also developing PyCharm, they usually update Python plugin of Idea quickly. Idea is better in terms of Jython. Also, in terms of Android Studio, JetBrains can also add some features that Studio doesn't have. And since new Android Versions are not become widely used too fast, Intellij Idea can apply the changes before it is late. (Both Android Studio and PyCharm based on Intellij Idea.)
For Android development, just use Android Studio. It’s developed by Google’s Android team (instead of JetBrains) and always has the latest Android-specific stuff that IntelliJ IDEA’s Android plugin might not.
(For server-side Python, I’m guessing the choice of PyCharm or IntelliJ IDEA doesn’t really matter much; they mostly have the same features. But I'm no expert there.)
