I'm trying to install the Java Hosting Package distributed by Helicon Zoo in order to host a java project (.war file) on IIS. The problem I'm having is that I can't install the package because Jetty 8 can't be installed.
At first it complained about Jetty 7 aswell but after I downloaded it, that was removed. This didn't however work for Jetty 8.

Has anyone seen this before and possibly fixed it?
Hmm, It seems as if the url that the package is trying to fetch Jetty from: dist.codehaus.org/jetty/jetty-hightide-8.1.7/… has been shut down. I removed Jetty8 (which I manually installed to try to fix the issue, and downloaded it again from download.eclipse.org/jetty. This seems to have fixed the issue. Don't know what the issue was with the first download but maybe it was corrupt.

I have develop JSP-Servlert application (i.e. WAR file) which running perfectly on tomcat server. Now I want to run same web application on IIS without tomcat.
Currently I am following this url: http://www.helicontech.com/articles/deploying-java-servlet-applications-on-windows-with-iis/
But while configuring Java hosting package as per mentioned in the above article, it is giving error to download jetty 8. Other softwares from the same package is getting download and install successfully.
When I checked the logs, I found that it is downloading the jetty from the URL: "http://dist.codehaus.org/jetty/jetty-hightide-8.1.7/jetty-hightide-8.1.7.v20120910.zip" and all the codehaus services has shutdown.
Can anyone help me to install the jetty into IIS or any other option to deploy the WAR into IIS?

Definately the easiest option, at the time of writing, is to use Microsoft's HttpPlatformHandler that you can install on IIS 8+ (Windows 8 or Windows Server 2012 at least).
You basically need to:
Install IIS on your machine
Install JDK
Install Jetty on Windows (just download zip and unpack it)
Create WAR file
Copy WAR file to your Jetty's installation folder under webapps directory.
Set up IIS web site with web.config as described here.
That's it. You can view your site using http://localhost:your_iis_defined_port/your_war_name. If you rename your WAR to root.war then 'your_war_name' will not be necessary.

After hours of trying i managed it by adding a ReverseProxy Rule, this is fairly easy and done super fast.
I had these dependencies installed already: AAR and HttpProxyHandler
The PC at work finally kicked the bucket and I needed to install MSBuild Extension Pack on my new PC so that I could continue creating DNN modules for my website. For whatever reason after I install it, I am getting the same error as if it is not installed
Set version Info does not exist in project c:\users\...
Here is what I have tried:
Uninstalling and reinstalling
Restarting computer and VS several times
Starting new project and trying to build it (gives same error)
Looking online for documentation and/or videos on how to install this properly (no luck)
My current version of windows is win7 x64 and the version of DotNetNuke that I am creating modules on is DNN 6.2.5. The version of MSBuild I have installed is 3.5.14 and 4.0.11. I am using VisualStudio 2012.
Did I miss a step in installation? Should I have used Community tasks?
After several restarts (and several rinse and repeat of the above 'tried' list), I installed MSBuild.Community.Tasks.v1.4.0.00.msi. After installing this my module template was able to build the project without error. Unfortunately, due to lack of documentation I do not know if you need both the extension pack AND community tasks in order for this to work, only that community was necessary in this case. For this reason I will leave the extension pack installed for now.
I'm having a problem with Subclipse, when trying to do anything like committing, updating or viewing history the first time nothing happens, and the second time I try this error show up:

The "SVN interface" option in the preferences is empty/greyed out:
I have another Eclipse installation (Java EE) which has the same packages installed and everything is still working fine there.
I've already tried reinstalling all the SVN packages but to no avail. I'm running Eclipse Kepler on Linux Mint 16 Petra, SVN is version 1.7.9.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
EDIT: I figured out that the other Eclipse installation had different (older) versions of the plugins. After updating these, that installation also stopped working. I suspect that my SVN version (1.7.9) is too old. I see 1.8.x has already been released, how can I install that version in my Linux installation? Running apt-get update/upgrade doesn't do it. I've seen some people talking about running dist-upgrade but that has broken things in the past so I'm very reluctant to do so unless absolutely necessary.
EDIT: I managed to install subversion 1.8.10 using these steps, but to no avail.
I managed to solve the issue my removing SVNKit and installing the "Subversion JavaHL Native Library Adapter" instead. I tried that before but it did work after I had also updated subversion to 1.8.
I have Eclipse Juno with Spring Tools Suite plugin installed.
I need to deploy a newly imported web project to Tomcat 7, which I installed on my system via repository.
The problem is that the New Server Wizard screen won't allow me to select Tomcat 7, as the description is empty and unmodifiable.
How can I fix this? I can select other versions of Tomcat but when I select the installation path of Tomcat I get an error that the installed version is 7.

Follow these steps, as this is a known issue
Go to Window–>Preferences–>Server–>Runtime Environments and fix the broken path/link for the server.
Rename the org.eclipse.jst.server.tomcat.core.prefs to org.eclipse.jst.server.tomcat.core.prefs.bak (or you can delete this file). This file can be found at \workspace\.metadata\.plugins\org.eclipse.core.runtime\.settings
Rename the org.eclipse.wst.server.core.prefs to org.eclipse.wst.server.core.prefs.bak (or delete the file). This file also can be found at the same location as above.
Follow these steps
1.)Go to Window–>Preferences–>Server–>Runtime Environments and fix the broken path/link for the server.
2.)delete this file org.eclipse.jst.server.tomcat.core.prefs under this location \workspace\.metadata\.plugins\org.eclipse.core.runtime\.settings
3.)delete this file org.eclipse.wst.server.core.prefs under this location \workspace\.metadata\.plugins\org.eclipse.core.runtime\.settings
After following these step's you can configure tomcat in eclipse.
Click on Add Configuration Runtime environments
On the Server Runtime Environments Window you will more than likely see Apache Tomcat 7.
If you remove the runtime environment and then go Back to the New Server Wizard Tomcat 7 will be available to add again.

The Eclipse Juno may not be fully compatible with the Apache Tomcat 7 yet. Installing and configuring with Tomcat 6 works. Simple.
I am trying to get Mercurial to be hosted via "hgweb.cgi" on IIS 7.5. I have everything configured according to http://www.jeremyskinner.co.uk/mercurial-on-iis7/ except for that I installed python 2.6 and Mercurial 1.7.3. When I try to go to the hgweb.cgi script, I get the following error:
"No module named osutil"
After a bit of searching, I've found that I need to install the python-dev packages, but that seems to only apply to unix. Is there anything else I need to get this working on windows?

Note that I tried the mercurial binaries/library.zip on both both HgTortoise and the Mercurial x86 installer available here:

I had the same issue trying to re-create an HgWeb server with Mercurial 2.1.1. I posted a question on the Mercurial mailing list.
Because HgWeb requires Python, you have to get Mercurial as a Python module. Fortunately, the Mercurial folks supply one; it's tagged py2.6 with the description
installs Mercurial source as Python modules and thus requires Python 2.6 installed. This is recommended for hgweb setups
Once I ran that installer, HgWeb started working.
Looking at the available downloads and the version specified in the question, it looks like you might have installed TortoiseHg 1.1.8 with Mercurial 1.7.3, which is probably missing some python packages.
I've been researching this problem myself (except I'm trying to run Mercurial via ISAPI), and it appears 1.7.1 is the last version that works with IIS due to dependency problems with msvcr90.dll in all later versions, including the newly released 1.8.2.
See this issue, which ultimately seems to be caused by this still open 1-year-old Python issue.
Judging by the conversation, a fix is not easy. I know of no workarounds, so I am forced to use 1.7.1 in the meantime.
Edit: CGI works with 1.8.2 though, so the above issue seems to only affect running Mercurial through ISAPI.
