I'm receiving the below error at work (with a proxy) when running the Google Cloud SDK install script (gcloud.components.update) Unable to fetch /components-2.json

I've added in the proxy information and I can download the installer (if I don't set the proxy I can't access this).

I can run curl https://dl.google.com/dl/cloudsdk/release/components-2.json
I'm running Python 2.7 and I'm on Windows XP. If its a proxy issue why can I download the files and access the page but can't run the login script?
I can download a local version of components-2.json I can also download all of the files that this file refers to.
Is there a config file I can edit to get it to look at the local versions of these files?
I can seems to find where the address /components-2.json is specified.

As an alternative, please try the following:
Download google-cloud-sdk.zip or google-cloud-sdk.tar.gz
Unpack the archive
Run the ./google-cloud-sdk/install.sh script
This is described in small print on the Google Cloud SDK page, underneath the text box that suggests running the command you're likely using:
curl https://sdk.cloud.google.com | bash

Background
Ubuntu 21.10 can load on my computer through secure boot, and the shim version is 15.4. Then refer to the official tutorial, I installed rEFInd v0.13.2 (the latest version when I posted this blog) via PPA in Ubuntu 21.10. However, when I restart the system and load rEFInd, it always fails with the message Verification failed:(0x1A)Security Violation. I'm sure that both refind_local.cer and refind.cer under the EFI/refind/keys/ have been enrolled through MokManager (Although only refind_local.cer is needed through PPA installation).
Cause
From this post, I got that rEFInd currently (v0.13.2) lacks the .sbat section. For shim 15.3 and later versions, SBAT is mandatory, resulting in failure to start rEFInd.
The post also indicates that the author of rEFInd is currently studying how to solve the related problems. I hope the later versions can fix this issue.
Solution
To conclude, you need to use shim 15 to solve this problem. For this purpose, you can perform the following steps (applicable to amd64. Steps are also similar if you are on other architectures):
Obtain MokManager and the shim efi file signed by Microsoft from Ubuntu launchpad. To achieve this, download shim_15+1552672080.a4a1fbe-0ubuntu2_amd64.deb and shim-signed_1.45+15+1552672080-064ubuntub_bed64.deb.
Unpack the downloaded shim_15+1552672080.a4a1fbe-0ubuntu2_amd64.deb and take out the mmx64.efi file. (data.tar.xz-> . -> usr/lib/shim/mmx64.efi)
Unpack the download shim-signed_1.45+15+1552672080.a4a1fbe-0ubuntu2_amd64.deb, take out the shimx64.efi.dualsigned file. (data.tar.xz-> . -> usr/lib/shim/shimx64.efi.dualsigned) Rename it to shimx64.efi.
Go to download refind-bin-0.13.2.zip. Then create a new folder, and put the two files taken out together with the downloaded zip file into the new folder.
Open terminal in the fore-mentioned folder, then execute the following commands:
unzip refind-bin-0.13.2.zip
cd refind-bin-0.13.2
sudo ./refind-install --shim ../shimx64.efi
If you encounter any confirmation during the installation process, just enter y to confirm.
After restarting, if it prompts Verification failed, refer to step 9 of the official tutorial. Select Enroll key from disk, and then select the ESP disk where you installed rEFInd. Finally, choose the file of path EFI/refind/keys/refind.cer to import.
If you use a non-Ubuntu Linux system on your computer, you can continue to import the cer files corresponding to your distributions in EFI/refind/keys as above. Failure to do so may cause your Linux distribution to be unable to boot via rEFInd.
I have installed the latest windows 10 version of Git v 24 and use the standard recommended install as shown on a number of websites including https://zarkom.net/blogs/how-to-install-git-and-git-bash-on-windows-9140
he has said that his install recommends for vers 19 are still ok for v24 and just click on Next etc. I have had this confirmed with other help guides but on install I type in after the $ sign either python and or python3 and nothing happens but I can see when running a test file the bash:
/c/Users/nigel/AppData/Local/Microsoft/WindowsApps/python3: Permission denied
I don't have python3 installed there but in standard C:\Users\nigel\AppData\Local\Programs\Python.
I have powershell running ok and am using Sublime Text 3 ok I can run code I prepare in Powershell version 5.6.. whatever it is now standard install part of Windows10. No issues running Python IDLE either.
When I search the reg with regedit and type in git bash I cannot trace this odd link to Microsoft/*/Python as above but in that folder there is an odd link not seen previously not sure what installed that other than sometime ago I might have started an instll of python via M store but sure I didn't but this odd python language server may have got installed through something else?
C:\Users\nigel\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Python Language Server\stubs.v1 is all I can find but in windowapps I found 0kb of a couple of files that are odd ie python.exe and python3.exe and size says 0kb.
I cant seem to find how to amend git so that it stops looking in this odd location and looks in correct folder as stated above ie C:\Users\nigel\AppData\Local\Programs\Python
I would appreciate any help although I am using powershell and ST3 ok on my python courses on UDEMY. I have tried to look at environmental path etc but cant see any reference to this odd path link with windowapps ? I have amended path ok previously for other editors or ensured that the path was pointing to correct python. The only other version of python I have is with Jupyter/ananconda but that is self contained my word ie it doesn't fire up unless I am in Anaconda or jupyter hope that makes sense which I use on another course ie bootcamp course
I have spent hours trying to fix this problem on my own but am getting nowhere and can't seem to see any other questions/solutions regarding my specific problem.
I successfully installed nodist via chocalatey via Powershell admin.
I used the following script in attempting to install the Squarespace development server per Squarespace documentation:

Please noted I added the -y parameter to for yes to accept license agreement but previously didn't add this parameter but still received same result.
When trying to install the local Squarespace development server via Powershell admin, the script keeps getting hung up at the following:

I have done everything from reinstalling nodist several times to rebooting machine and everything else to troubleshoot.
Please note that I have also waited for more than an hour to see if the script fully executes but remains hung at the above noted line.
Why is this happening and how can I fix this?

I have started learning groovy and I just came across the SDKMAN utility.
To give it a try I folllowed the installation guidelines at the official site of sdkman and tried to run the below command to install sdkman on Windows 10 :
set SDKMAN_DIR="E:/sdkman" && curl -s "https://get.sdkman.io" | bash
But I donot see any sdkman folder present in my E drive.
When I try to re-run the command it says :
Looking for a previous installation of SDKMAN...
SDKMAN found.

I am just confused as to why am I not able to see it with my eyes. I have even tried enabling view hidden items.

which bash implementation are you using under windows? cygwin? gitbash?
I believe at least in gitbash that the path syntax is /e/sdkman/, i.e. you would do:
export SDKMAN_DIR="/e/sdkman" && curl -s "https://get.sdkman.io" | bash
but it's been a long time since I was on windows and I suspect this is bash-implementation specific (i.e. it might differ between cygwin and gitbash for example).
If this assumption is correct, the syntax you were using might have created a directory called E:/sdkman under your user's home directory or whatever directory you happened to be in when you ran this. Just guessing here, but worth a look.
I am trying to install Google Cloud SDK on a Linux machine without any Internet access.

I downloaded the tar file on my local machine and transferred it to the Linux machine using scp. I then ran the install.sh file and got the following error:

I have a proxy server that I can use to access the internet from this Linux machine. I tried running install.sh as 'sh install.sh --proxy host:port' but obviously, there is no input parameter called proxy to install.sh.
How can I work around this problem?

Exported my proxy details as "export https_proxy='...'" before running the install.sh file.
This worked for me.
Go to Advanced System settings and create a variable HTTPS_PROXY,
restart CMD.
echo %HTTPS_PROXY%
To make sure it has taken the changes into account.
Launch the install.bat
