Use Xamarin Studio on Windows to build iOS app - xamarin.ios

Is it possible to build an iOS app using Xamarin Studio running on Windows and have it connect to the Xamarin.ios Build Host running on the mac?
The example I have seen only talk about using Visual Studio.

No it is not possible. Xamarin Studio on Windows will only build Android apps. If you are going to use Xamarin Studio and you have a connected Mac, then why not just use it on the Mac?

No you can't use Xamarin Studio on Windows and connect to the Xamarin.iOS build host, you have to use Visual Studio.
Just remember that you will need to do any design and layout tasks on Mac OS X using XCode though. On Xamarin Studio for OS X Alpha Channel there is an interface builder but I think it does not apply to the Windows version of Xamarin Studio or the Visual Studio addon.

You can write iOS apps on windows but you can not compile them unless you have xcode on mac

While not specifically answering the question, it should be noted that it is possible to develop for iOS in Visual Studios using a connected Mac as a build host. This connected Mac could either be through the network or can even be a VM running from your Windows machine.
You can now use the Interface Builder inside of Visual Studios on Windows to create iOS interfaces (only while connected to a Mac as described above).

Developing Xamarin no longer requires Visual Studio 2019 on win10?

According to the document Designing user interfaces with Xcode, I am noted that
Starting in Visual Studio 2019 version 16.9, there will be no supported way to edit iOS storyboards on Windows. Use Visual Studio for Mac and the Xcode Interface Builder to continue building your Xamarin.iOS user interfaces.
We need to edit the storyboard on Xcode.
It told me that we can use VS2019 for Mac and Xcode. What I want to know is that can me develop the Xamarin using VS2019 on Win10 any more, rather than installing VS2019 on Mac.
The background behind that notice is that Microsoft decided to not work on its iOS user interface visual designer any more (due to various reasons), so you lost the way to edit storyboard files on Windows.
So yes, you can continue to develop the Xamarin using VS2019 on Win10, but now that approach has many more restrictions.

Does building a Windows Visual Studio Xamarin.IOS class library create an Xcode project on the paired MacBook?

I need to interface a Swift (or Objective-C) user interface Xcode project on the MacBook that calls the Xamarin.IOS class library.
No it does not create an XCode project on the Macbook that you can edit in Swift. It only uses the Mac to compile the code. You have to
Install Visual Studio for Mac on the Mac computer
Transfer your directory to the mac and Open the same SLN file in Visual Studio for Mac
Most Xamarin developers actually just use Mac computers for development purposes.

Windows app development using windows 2012?

Can I develop a Windows Phone & store apps on both using Visual Studio 2012. Although it is recommended to use Visual Studio 2013.
You can develop apps for wither but you will not be able to make universal. Why would you want to do that when you can download the VS2013 Express version and develop proper 8.1 universal apps?

How to Compile the Xamarin.iOS app using Visual Studio only?

Recently i came to know that Xamarin 3 got released and there a is beautiful GUI designer for iOS. But am not sure still for compilation do we need to use the Mac? With out Mac is it possible to compile iOS app?
Thanks,
Ravi
With invention of GUI designer for iOS in Xamarin, makes it easy for the developer to switching between xCode to windows. For compiling there is no need of Mac. But to run and see the output, you still require Mac - iOS build host. Also, Mac would be required to host iOS app on App store.

How to build Mac host in visualstudio using xamarin

I installed xamarin in windows 7 Home Basic. I need to connect Mac host in visual studio, I get the ios settings to build, but its not host automatically.
On the Xamarin guides, they informed Craigs-MacBook.local but I cant get the host in my laptop. I simply struggled
Can you please explain me what can i do further to host Mac in windows PC to run iPhone.
Thanks in advance.
You need to install Xamarin on your Mac, then you have to activate your Xamarin Studio in both computers (Mac and Windows). To do this you need to:
Create a Xamarin account and set it or link it to your Visual Studio(Windows) and Xamarin Studio(Mac) IDEs so they can interact. This is Via Tools > Xamarin Account. It is not necessary to buy a license since you can start with the trial version of Xamarin.
Create a Test or whatever Project on both IDEs in order to be prompted to activate your Xamarin Studio and Visual Studio.
Once you have "activated" both your IDEs, you have to link Visual Studio to your iOS Xamarin via: Tools > Options > Xamarin > iOS Settings.
And that's all.
Maybe you can't set your Host Mac Xamarin.IOs in Visual Studio because you haven't activated your iOS Xamarin Studio in your Mac, in order to do that, in your Mac Xamarin Studio create a project from a template that utilizes network connections, and you'll be prompted to activate your Xamarin Studio. In Windows Visual Studio you have to create any project and you'll be prompted to activate your Visual Studio.
Also your SDKs on both machines may be out of synch, so you'll have to download some updates on your Mac and Win to synchronize both IDEs and SDKs in order for them to work together.
Also you have to install your Xamarin and Visual Studio in this order:
First, Install Visual Studio in Windows.
Second, Xamarin Studio in Mac and Windows.
Finally Link your Mac and Win through Visual Studio.
Also it is recommended to have a Windows Pro version since you can't use the Windows Phone Emulator on a Home (Core) Version of Windows 8 because you won't be able to install Hyper-V which is needed to run this Emulator. Furthermore, you'll need a Visual Studio Pro or higher version to link your Xamarin to Visual Studio.
Hope it helps!
I had to follow the instructions here: https://developer.xamarin.com/guides/ios/getting_started/installation/windows/troubleshooting/offline.pdf
Basically I was missing:
Open spotlight on the mac
Type "xamarin build host"
Launch, and it shows a pairing prompt
I followed the on-screen instructions, using a pin to associate my windows machine
