Load XLS with ComponentOne C1XLBook and output as PDF? - excel

I would usually use a C1Report to generate my reports which are generated on a server and saved as PDF. In this case the report really needs to be based on an Excel spreadsheet so I am using C1XLBook to build the data in the required format. However, I can't work out how to export this as a PDF file. Possible? The C1 forums seem to be done at the moment so I can't post over there.
Thanks
Jeff

1.Loading a XLS file with C1XLBook :
System.Diagnostics.Process.Start(#"c:\mybook.xls");
or
c1XLBook1.Load(#"c:\mybook.xls");
2.Output as PDF:
C1Excel doesn't provide the feature to export to pdf.
see here
.
However ther is a workaround mentioned here:
You may try using the following approach:
1. Load the excel file in FlexGrid.
2. Capture the image of the displayed flexgrid, please refer to the following link that describes the same:
http://our.componentone.com/2011/04/19/control-rendering-in-print-document/
3. Once, you have the image you can save the same to Pdf by using the DrawImage method of c1PDF. Please refer to the following link that describes the same:

OFFIS DICOM scope toolkit Structured report link to image

Does anybody knows how to create a structured report using dicom scope toolkit via console (ubuntu 16.04) with a link to a related image?
The thing is that I have an image of some kind of trauma and I have to connect with a report which is in a text file. The last file should be in .dcm format which contains annotation and a link to an image. I have to use dicom scope program.
Maybe others refrain from answering because your question needs a very long answer. I cannot provide step-by-step instructions, a few hints, though.
The way I would go is to:
(assuming that your image is available in DICOM format):
obtain a sample structured report. I think that the "simple" Basic Text SR is what you want to go for. You can find some samples here.
convert the SR to an XML file using dsr2xml
edit the contents in XML. Do not forget to include your image reference in (0040,a730) Content Sequence -> (0008,1199) Referenced SOP Sequence
convert the XML back to DICOM SR using xml2dsr
By the way: From your question, I did not really understand why you want to use a structured report, as you wrote that your report is plain text. Instead of digging into the complex structure of SR, you may want to consider exporting the report to an Encapsulated PDF document which can reference images as well.

Export data from JIRA into Excel dynamically

I am using JIRA and in each sprint i do some steps to export file from JIRA and copy-paste it in Excel, and then apply my functions on it. This takes me a lot of time so i would like to automate all this steps using Excel.
So, is it possible to export data from JIRA into Excel dynamically ?
Is there a way to do that please?
Thanks
You can export search results directly to Excel: navigate to Issues -> Search for Issues, and run you search. After that you can click on Export -> Excel (All/Current fields).
If this option is not available for you, you can export same search results to CSV file and Excel should be able to import it.
Please, refer to official documentation for more details.
If that is not what you are searching for, please specify your requirements more precisely.
See related answer here. You can export a filter to a csv file with a curl command. You can call this command via Shell in VBA. Then postprocess the output file with vba to integrate the data in your final report file.

xlsx generation in nodejs, along with graphs

I need to create Excel Sheet report in nodejs, along with some pie/bar charts. The Packages like https://github.com/SheetJS/js-xlsx and https://github.com/guyonroche/exceljs doesn't provide the facility to create charts.
Can anyone suggest any methodor existing package so that pie/bar charts can be included in xlsx report in Nodejs?
I have the same problem and I am looking for the solution as well.
I have found https://www.npmjs.com/package/xlsx-chart but I don't know yet how to integrate data along with the chart because the plugin generate separate sheet for data and table.
Using https://www.npmjs.com/package/quiche you will get an URL with the image. I´ve tryed to integrated it in exceljs or to save it like an image but seems impossible
You can generate a Google Chart image and insert it in your report. There is https://github.com/ryanrolds/quiche for that.
It will call Google API to generate your image and return the URL. I believe it's not hard to integrate an image from URL into the xls.
You can use an npm lib called office-chart.
https://www.npmjs.com/package/office-chart/v/1.0.26
It will allow you to create xlsx charts in mulisheets and also create pptx with charts.

How to import a segment of html into Excel

Requirement:
1.I need to export a table as a excel file.
2.I render it in a html page at first. I have a button to export to html.
My opinion:
1.I get the html from page:
document.getElementById('content').value = document.getElementById('containerId').innerHTML;
form1.submit();
2.I get it from server, response.ContentType = "application/vnd.ms-excel;" // it need the client has installed Microsoft Excel.
3.I got the right Excel file "XXXX.xls".
4.BUT BUT BUT, when I open it, it's alert a waring tell me like
"it's not the right format of Excel, are you confirm to open it?"
I'm feel sorry to see it.
So I want to import the HTML section into a Excel file, then response the right Excel file to USER-AGENT.
I have use the Aspose.Cells library in my project, I don't know how to use it to finish the task, Or is any other solution to solve it ?
If you need to parse html tags/portion to Excel spreadsheet using Aspose.Cells for .NET, you may use Cell.HtmlString attribute to set your desired html code segment in a cell, it will be parsed accordingly in the generated Excel file. Mind you, not all the html tags are supported at the moment.
Aspose.Cells for .NET also supports to convert an Excel file to Html file directly, see the documents on which file formats are supported for conversion, it may help you for your reference:
http://www.aspose.com/documentation/.net-components/aspose.cells-for-.net/opening-files.html
http://www.aspose.com/documentation/.net-components/aspose.cells-for-.net/saving-files.html
If you still have some issue/confusion, kindly give us details with your sample code using Aspose.Cells API, we can help you.

How do I import an Excel Spreadsheet into a blog..?

We are interested in trying to import an Excel spreadsheet into our Blog.
A sample of the Excel spreadsheet that we generate each day and want to export into our Blog is located at:
http://www.wallstreetsignals.com/WhatsWorking.html
Our Blog is located at:
http://whatsworkinginthestockmarket.blogspot.com/
We are interested in a program or method that would allow us to just import the Excel spreadsheet into our Blog instead of having to hand input all the data, which is what we are doing now.
Thank you for your thoughts and the cost to have you help accomplish our goal.

Well, outside of creating a program (which is possible, using PHP, Perl, Java, etc and either an excel input module or converting to CSV or XML and processing that)...
Have you considered using Google Documents or another online spreadsheet software? It's easy to import an excel spreadsheet, and then embed the spreadsheet in the blog post or webpage. Then if you need to change it, modify the google document spreadsheet and the changes are rendered on the webpage or blog post immediately.

The easiest thing might be to use Google Docs. Upload your spreadsheet, then publish from Google Docs to your blog. See this article.
Can your blog consume XML? You can set up an XML Schema in Excel 2007 and just export it to an XML file. You would need to write an XSLT.
I also have a macro that will write out XML to a file... can upload that if it would help...
If your spreadsheet is generated by a macro, you could just modify a macro to generate html or some other sort of blog markup ready for copy and paste.
Excel can save as HTML, which you could then strip the metadata from and use in your website. Unfortunately the HTML that it generates is very bloated. If you do not mind client lock-in, you could consider embedding the XLS file directly on your website, and having your viewers use the IE embedded excel viewer.
If you can use ASP.NET you could use SpreadsheetGear for .NET to load an Excel workbook, grab values, formatted values or even images to display on a web page. There are live ASP.NET samples with source if you want to check it out.
