Could we list how each of the major browsers support popups (i.e. open a new window, target="_blank", etc.)
For ex: most allow popups on the click event

The basic rule of thumb is that popups are allowed ONLY in response to user-triggered events, of which click is the big one. Anything else gets blocked. Most browsers will further restrict things such that onmouseover would not trigger a popup, even though it's a user generated event. Basically, if the root cause of an event is NOT a physical click by the user, then it's blocked. This includes trying to do things like $('#spam_me_to_death').click(), as the click was not initiated by the user.

Published a new extension and it's discoverable and displaying properly in the Chrome Store.
Folks have told me they have installed it and gave it a rating.
But, no activity displays publicly or in the developer dashboard.
Am I just experiencing a normal lag or is something broken?
Thanks!
In my experience, stats such as weekly users and the stats graph will update at least once a day, and sometimes twice. As for the ratings, they take about a day to show up. I am sure it is just normal lag, wait a day and see if they show up.

Clicking link mailto: my.name#domain.com on my Google Site does not open gmail anymore. Has something changed? Thanks for information!
I don't know that which browser you are using. May be it's a browser specific problem.
Check with different browsers to see if it's same for all.
Also, try this link. It may help you -

If a user create a new site and just saves is without checking the site in, where's the location?
I want to test what's happens if a farm administrator tries to publish a site that's not a "draft" or a published site. (got a custom "publish now"-button without having to go trough a workflow)
Since Sharepoint dot not support draft versions of sites, I think you mean List Items or documents that not have been checked in by your users.
To see those items you can use the Site Content and Structure facilities. Check this post:

In my IIS logs, some of the entries say Mozilla/4.0(compatible...;+GTB7.4;...). I am a curious/suspicious person and would like to find out what "GTB7.4" means. No useful info on goog, bing or SO. It seems to be some add-on for MSIE 8.0. What is it?
It's a fragment of the User agent that tells you that particular browser has the Google Toolbar v. 7.4 installed.
From the fragment you posted -
Mozilla/4.0 (compatible
it might be Internet Explorer 8 or less.
References:
User agent GTB or GTB5 is the Google Toolbar
Remove or ignore GTB (Google Toolbar) entry from the HTTP_USER_AGENT

I'm currently creating a site using Sharepoint, I notice when I add a page into the root it automatically adds them onto the top navigation, but I'd like to have a side navigation too (with sub pages)
Unfortunately this is quite different to any project I've worked on before, and find when compared to other CMS it is very tricky to find much information online about how to perform relatively simple tasks in Sharepoint, so I'd really appreciate any help!
Thank you
Check that your pages are published and approved
You did not state the version of SharePoint you are using, so this explanation is for SP2010:
Go to Site Settings --> Navigation
There you can add/remove pages to the "global navigation" (that would be the top navigation) and the "current navigation" (that would be the side).
