How do I connect to Cassandra with the C++ driver? - cassandra

I am trying to connect cassandra with c++ in linux ‘titan’ by using the cmake .nothing in the internet useful I found,
Can anyone help me with steps please?

There are packages available for RHEL/CentOS and Ubuntu on the C++ driver Installation page. You can find the download links for the dependencies on the same page.
You'll need to install the dependencies and runtime library. See the Installation instructions for details.
Once you've installed the driver, try running the sample code for connecting to a Cassandra cluster in the C++ driver Getting started guide. Cheers!

Downloading debian Neo4j version from Windows

I'm trying to download the Debian Neo4j version from a Window 7 machine. I'm not managing to find the URL in order to download the package/file . I have installed the GOW software for some linux commands.
Any assistance would be appreciated.
Update
I found this link - https://neo4j.com/download/other-releases/ . Know I need to figure out what is the best file to download in order to install it on an Ubuntu Machine
You've got two options :
If you've got access to the package repository (from your Ubuntu machine), follow the information in https://neo4j.com/docs/operations-manual/current/installation/linux/debian/ to install it as a package. That's the best option which also provides start/stop scripts, a user that runs Neo4j (neo4j) and also allows for easier upgrades.
If you can not reach the internet from your Ubuntu machine (as could be deduced from the way you're trying to do it, the zip (or tar.gz for Linux) download is the way to go. You can find that at http://info.neo4j.com/download-thanks.html?edition=community&release=3.2.3&flavour=unix
Hope this helps.
Regards,
Tom

Install Oracle Database Express Edition 11g Release 2 in Arch Linux

Newbie here,Kindly bear with me.
I would like to install Oracle Database Express Edition 11g Release 2 in Arch Linux.
I've downloaded the oracle-xe-11.2.0-1.0.x86_64.rpm.zip then unzipped it to /home/user/Downloads/Disk1. In that folder there is oracle-xe-11.2.0-1.0.x86_64.rpm file.
As per this Oracle Installation manual in Arch Linux there are several method. I would like to follow Install method 2 - AUR method as I guess its bit easy than other(Actually I don't understand other method much and have confusions).
But when I try to install oracle from AUR, I found this problem: error: target not found: oracle. I think that package is no more available.
How can I proceed futher? As a learner it would be helpful for me if steps are bit explanatory.
AUR package is named "oracle-xe", not "oracle".
You should download snapshot from
https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/oracle-xe/
and uncompress it. Then step into oracle-xe directory and type
makepkg -s
But I vote for installing qemu and centos minimal, then Oracle inside it. Oracle is so painful to install even in supported distribs.
Also you will pollute your Arch with unnecessary symlinks and applications.

Installing a oracle forms development machine

After working with Oracle databases and Apex for many years, I want to get some knowledge about Oracle forms & reports, because they are still quite widely used.
I've never seen Oracle forms & reports, so I want to create a development installation for learning purposes. Unfortunately installing Oracle forms seems a bit more tedious than I expected and I'm a bit stuck.
Windows installation
I first tried installing Oracle 12c (from http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/forms/downloads/index.html) on windows 7 x64. I installed the "Standalone forms builder", because when I chose "Forms and reports deployment", I got this error:
After installation I tried to start frmbld.exe, but immediately got this error:
FRM-91135: fatal error: message file D:\oracle\client\user123\product\12.1.0\client_1\forms\mesg\fmcus.msb not found
My oracle client is installed in that directory, but the mentioned file is certainty not there.
linux installation
Googling around I did not find any solution for this problem, so i decided to switch to a Linux virtual box machine. I installed Oracle linux x64 and then installed with a download from the same page again.
Once more I could only choose "Standalone forms builder", when I chose "Forms and reports deployment" I got exactly the same error as on windows. The installation ran successful.
After installation I tried to start formbuilder, this time I was presented this error:
./frmbld: error while loading shared libraries: libXm.so.3: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
So now I'm a bit stuck. My questions are:
Am I going the right way with the way I'm trying to install Oracle forms? or is there a better / easier way?
Do I need a "Forms and reports deployment" to be able to experiment with Oracle forms? or is the standalone installation the right way to go?
Are there any pre-installed virtual machines available for this? (I googled but couldn't find anything.)
Do I need a running Oracle database to be able to experiment with Oracle forms?
Linux installation:
Yes you are going the correct path installing Forms/Reports. There is no easier install method (Oracle does not have a prebuilt VM with Forms/Reports).
You will require an Oracle database to connect to.
To fix the linux error you will need to install additional OS packages, probably motif - you can run (to find the packages required): yum whatprovides libXm*
I have installed Forms Builder 12c (standalone install) on Fedora and it is working correctly.
The windows error might be related to you OS PATH ENV - if you have any other Oracle products installed, the PATH order may need to be changed, put the Forms related paths at the beginning.
Unfortunately I was unable to get it properly working with my previous attempts. In the end I restarted an installed a windows 10 x64 virtual machine, after which i followed these excellent video's to get everything working: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4tgtHPJGc7o

After upgrading PHP to version 7, why can't I use the mongodb driver?

Well here's an odd situation I've found. I've been using PHP and MongoDB together on a project, and updated the associated software. After the upgrade, I did make sure to update the new conf files and all is well --- except when I try to use the MongoClient class, I get the following fatal error:
Fatal error: Uncaught Error: Class 'MongoClient' not found in /srv/http/test.php
So my first instinct was to check my /etc/php/php.ini to make sure that mongodb.so was correctly included. I found it after the other extension lines:
extension=mcrypt.so
extension=zip.so
extension=mongodb.so ; <--- here it is
With that checked, I loaded up a quick phpinfo() script to check that I was using the right php.ini file, and confirmed that I am. And not only that, the mongodb driver also appears to be loaded correctly!
Loaded Configuration File /etc/php/php.ini
. . .
mongodb support enabled
mongodb version 1.1.1
mongodb stability stable
libmongoc version 1.3.1-dev
libbson version 1.3.0
So I restarted httpd and tried again. No dice, still can't find the MongoClient class. So I tried to install it from pecl instead of my distribution's package manager, and the situation is the same as described above.
So here's a quick rundown of the situation:
Linux kernel 4.3.3
PHP Version 7.0.1
php-mongodb version 1.1.1
Yes, 1.1.1 supports php7.
Seems properly configured, and mongodb is enabled and shown in phpinfo().
Tried installing the mongodb driver through pecl and my distro's package manager.
Other info that may be useful:
MongoDB Version 3.2.0
mongod is running
Also tried rebooting, no change.
Well I found the answer.
The class has been changed. It's no longer \MongoClient, and is now \MongoDB\Driver\Manager
All that I need is a refactor. The new driver is designed to be a lower-level driver for high-level functionality to be filled with userspace libraries, so anyone else upgrading to php7, make sure you check that you'll be comfortable with the new driver, or that the userspace libraries exist when you do it. Hopefully this question/answer helps others in the future.
Commenter ianaz below has posted this good userspace library for MongoDB: http://mongodb.github.io/mongo-php-library/

Install MonoDevelop IDE for Redhat Linux

I am trying to install and configure MonoDevelop on my Oracle VM Virtual Box. The Operating System that running on the VM is RedHat Linux.
With the help of the below link, I have installed the mono-2.10.8 and also I was able to compile and run the sample c# source code on Linux through the shell.
Here
Now, I am trying to install or configure the IDE, please advise me for the good IDEs.
Thanks for your help
Installed Monodeveloper from the below link. I chose the Operating System as CentOS
MonoDevelop
This will also install mono-opt from the home:tpokorra repo
mono-opt is the latest stable version (3.6) on mono available from Mono Project
I found this way much easier for installing mono on redhat / centos 6
