Primefaces interface test on pc? - jsf

I am developing a web application with a mobile interface using JSF/Primefaces and I want to test the change from one view to another but the only view that appears is the first one.
How to make it work on PC?

If you use Mozilla Firefox you can download a plugin called User Agent Switcher. There you go to tools -> Default user Agent -> By default it shows Iphone 3.0, but you can download more agents to render different browser views.
You can learn some about the User Agents here

Accessing file system in an iOS device

I'm an absolute newbie to Xamarin world. I'm working on a web application where a user completes a long form (say some 100+ fields) and then submits the form which will write the information to a database. One of the requirement is user should be able to load the form, resume his work even when he is Offline( No internet connection). I have used HTML5 Application cache, Local Storage in Html5, KnockOut.JS, Java script so that for every 2 seconds all the user form information is saved to Local Storage of the browser. But lately, I noticed with few users that the forms are getting deleted sometimes due to an iOS update. Also I don't want to rely on browsers cookie/cache to store this information.
I want to find out what my options are with Xamarin. Can I use a component like 'UIWebview' in the Xamarin app to launch my web application and then access the file system of iOS of that Xamarin app from the browser launched ?
Sure you can!
One launch image plus one screen with UIWebView is what you need for your task. You can handle UIWebView's event to save and load it's state.
Good news is that such app could be small enought to build it using free (Starter) version of platform.

Embedded bookmark in J2ME app

Does anyone know if this is possible in J2ME;
I want to have an app that simply launches a browser when opened and directs the browser to a specific web page.
If so, is it widely supported.
You can use javax.microedition.midlet.MIDlet.platformRequest() to launch the browser on almost all phones that support JavaME. This article tells more about invoking platform services such as browser.

What is the URL option to display a Mobile XPage App with iPhone theme?

When I load an xpages mobile application into desktop safari it displays the app with the default theming for an Android device. What do you need to do to get it to use the default iPhone theming?
I thought you needed add something like &iPhone=1 to the end of the url, but that's not working.
Thank you.
To quote the Mobile Controls tutorial:
A browser platform query string parameter is available for developers
to force the browser to takes precedence over one another. Just add
'?platform=iphone' or '?platform=android' to the URL and this will
force the correct theme for XPages mobile pages that match against the
xsp.theme.mobile.pagePrefix property.
Another option is to enable the Develop menu (Edit - Preferences, then on Advanced tab tick Show Develop menu in menu bar. Then from the Develop menu you can change the user agent or set your own.
You could use the sample application for the Extension Library from openntf.org. Go to the "Mobile" tab where you can "extract" the urls to show as iPhone, Android and BlackBerry.
With just a few changes you can add a url as a parameter to this application to show your own mobile app in the same context ;-) I use that for demo purposes.

How can I display a javascript webpage inside a WebView in JavaFx 2.0 in Browser

I am trying to display a twitterBox inside a webview in a JavaFx 2.0 web application. Is there any know problems with trying to do this? When I launch the application from my desktop the script shows up but from the browser it doesn't load the script.
You need to sign your application.
Being run in browser JavaFX applications falls under restrictions of Java plugin and you twitterBox can't connect to another domain twitter.com.
If you are using NetBeans you can self-sign application in Project Properties.
Otherwise look here: http://docs.oracle.com/javafx/2.0/deployment/javafx_ant_task_reference001.htm#CIAJGAFH
