In my Excel sheet, I have 2 columns. Names of restaurants, and ratings for each one. For each rating, a new row is created, so of course a restaurant name occurs multiple times.
Restaurant Rating
McDonalds 8
McDonalds 7
Red Robin 5
Qdoba 7
Etc.
How can I get the number of times each rating happens for each restaurant? We'll say rating goes from 1-10.
I want it to look like this:
Restaurant 1(rating) 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10
McDonalds 889 22 45 77 484 443 283 333 44 339
Any help is appreciated!
Using Pivot Tables:
Use a pivot tables to set your rows at "Restaurant" and your columns as "Rating" and your values as "Count of Rating"

I have the following table:
OrderNumber
Value
123
2
123
3
333
5
333
6
555

555
9
My goal is to sum all OrderNumbers with the same values (e.g. for OrderNumber 123 the sum should be 5) and output the result in a new row.
The output should be like this:
OrderNumber
Value
Result
123
2
5
123
3
5
333

11
333

I've seen some formulas beginning with =SUM(A2:A6;A2;B2:B6). Important to me is that the searching criteria must be dynamically because my table has about 1k rows.
Do you have any references or suggestions?
You need SUMIF() function.
=SUMIF($A$2:$A$7,A2,$B$2:$B$7)
If you are a Microsoft 365 user then can try BYROW() for one go.
=BYROW(A2:A7,LAMBDA(x,SUMIF(A2:A7,x,B2:B7)))
This is the exact reason why the "Subtotals" feature has been invented:
The Input data
in sheet1
and
the output calculated in sheet2
Now the sheet1 data can be changed by the user for input, so now columns 'Units1' & 'Units2' may not be placed at the same address that are in columns 'C' and 'D' respectively, so suppose a new user will input the data in which 'Avocado' and 'Banana' are in columns C & D , then the 'Output' calculation in Sheet2 will be incorrect because we always want to use Units1 & Units2 for calculation.
How to fix this, so that every time the data is input the formula checks whether the correct columns have been taken for calculation or not?
Is there a way to use INDEX or family of LOOKUP functions or any other function for this.
Maybe by a creating a new sheet and making a table of Indexes which refer to (or point to) the column names of Data sheet

Use INDEX/MATCH:
=INDEX(2:2,1,MATCH("Units2",$1:$1,0))/INDEX(2:2,1,MATCH("Units1",$1:$1,0))

The Excel table above consists of:
List A = Column C:D
List B = Column E:F
In each list campaigns can appear mutliple times.
In Column A:B I want to sum up the sales per campaign from the two lists using the SUMIF formula:
=SUMIF(C:C,A3,D:D)
=SUMIF(E:E,A3,F:F)
However, the List B should be prioritized over List A which means in case a campaign exists in List B (Column E) the SUMIF function should be only applied to List B and List A should be totally ignored.
The formula might look something like htis:
IF campaign exists in Column E then SUMIF(E:E,A3,F:F) else SUMIF(C:C,A3,D:D)
How can I achieve the desired results in Column B?
Or,
=IF(COUNTIF(E:E,A3)>0,SUMIF(E:E,A3,F:F),SUMIF(C:C,A3,D:D))
I would try with the following:
if(sumIf(E:E,A3,F:F)>0;sumIf(E:E,A3,F:F);sumIf(C:C,A3,D:D))
I am Trying to Normalize Records of My SOurce table using Normalize Transformation in informatica, But Sequence are not re-generating for different rows.
Below Is SOurce Table :
Store_Name Sales_Quarter1 Sales_Quarter2 Sales_Quarter3 Sales_Quarter4
DELHI 150 240 455 100
MUMBAI 100 500 350 340
Target Table :
Store_name
Sales
Quarter
I am Using Occurrence - 4, on Sales Column for getting GCID Sales.
For Quarter, I am Using GCID Sales column :
O/P :
STORE_NAME SALES_COLUMN QUARTER
Mumbai 100 1
Mumbai 500 2
Mumbai 350 3
Mumbai 340 4
Delhi 150 5
Delhi 240 6
Delhi 455 7
Delhi 100 8
Why Quarter Value is not restarting from 1 for Delhi and is continuing from 5 ?
There is a GK column that keeps sequential numbers for all rows. Definitely, GCID is the right column that keeps numbers per multi-occurrences in a row. So, double check that there is GCID port and not GK that is linked to QUARTER port to target…
It’s good to provide a screenshot for the mapping and for the normalizer transformation (Normalizer tab) to be more informative about your question/issue…
But I suppose you have 'Store_Name' port at level 1 and all 'Sales_Quarter1', 'Sales_Quarter2', 'Sales_Quarter3' and 'Sales_Quarter4' ports grouped at level 2 on Normalizer tab (using >> button at top left area). And at group level (for these four ports) you set the Occurrence to 4.

Add a helper column with the following formula:
=IF(A2<>"",A2,C1)
Then from the two left columns create a Pivot Table:
